Boston Police Incidents for January 22, 2006

Gun, Drugs Recovered after Foot ChaseMembers of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested 19-year-old Uylsee Landrum of Roxbury at 6:40pm last night on Blue Hill Avenue near Brunswick Street. Landrum ran from officers and attempted to discard a gun he was carrying in an alley. Officers were able to catch Landrum and recover the loaded revolver he threw to the ground. Officers also found crack cocaine in Landrum’s pocket. He will be arraigned Monday in Roxbury District Court. Two Children Found Home Alone After Stove Fire At 11:41pm last night, officers from District 11 responded to 19 Winter Street in Dorchester on a report of a building fire. Boston Fire Department personnel reported that one of the apartments was filled with smoke from food left on the stove. Firefighters located two small children sleeping in a bedroom and no adults could be found. The children ages three and one, were taken to Boston Medical Center and released to DSS custody. Detectives from District 11 are investigating this incident. Boston Man Stabbed Outside 1045 Tremont Street Early this morning, officers from District 4 met the victim of a robbery at the Boston Medical Center. The victim, a 45-year-old male from Boston, reported to police that he was approached by two males outside 1045 Tremont Street one held a knife to him, the other took some jewelry and personal items from his person. The victim received a slash to his right forearm and was taken to the hospital by his brother. No additional information was given to the officers and the victim was released with non-life threatening injuries. Downtown Stabbing Leaves One Injured and One Arrested Just before 3am this morning officers from District 1 were directed to a man down at Broad and Water Streets. A 31-year-old Revere man was found bleeding from the face and chest and was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital. His injuries are considered serious but not life threatening. Preliminary investigation by responding officers led to the arrest of 18-year-old Amadeus Guerrero of Westwood in connection with the stabbing. This investigation continues by Area A-1 Detectives.
