Suspects Arrested in Downtown Crossing after Robbing Female in Beacon HillA 35-year-old female from Beacon Hill reported to Officers from District 1 that at about noon on Sunday, she was entering her apartment on Pinckney Street when a male approached her from behind, pointed a firearm at her and robbed her of United States Currency. The suspect fled on foot down Pinckney Street toward Joy Street. Later in the afternoon at about 3:18pm, officers on patrol in the Downtown Crossing area observed a male fitting the description of the suspect wanted for the armed robbery that occurred hours before on Pinckney Street. The officers approached the male to conduct a threshold inquiry. While patting the suspect down, the officer felt a hard object in the suspect’s waist area that appeared to be a firearm. Officers removed an unloaded black pellet gun and a hypodermic needle from the suspect. Officers arrested Angel Vargas, 42, of Boston and charged him with possession of a hypodermic needle and armed robbery. He will be arraigned in the Boston Municipal Court this morning. Dorchester Market Robbed by Armed Suspect Officers assigned to District 3 responded to 322 Talbot Avenue yesterday afternoon at about 2:46pm on a report of an armed robbery. According to witnesses on scene, the suspect entered the store twice and on his second visit displayed a small black semi-automatic handgun and robbed the clerk. The suspect fled out the store on foot toward Aspinwall Street. He is described as a 25-30 year-old, white-hispanic male, about 5’5”, 160lbs, wearing a white coat and blue jeans. Armed Robbery at Heath Street Launderette Last night at 8:33pm, officers from District 13 responded to 178 Heath Street on a report of an armed robbery. The victim states that the suspect requested change for a dollar and then pulled a firearm and ordered the suspect into an office. The suspect then took an undisclosed amount of United States currency and told the victim to count to twenty before calling the police. This incident remains under investigation and no arrests have been made. Two Juveniles Arrested for Violating the Alcohol Laws Members of the Youth Violence Strike Force patrolling the South End last night at about 6:20pm observed five individuals in the Castle Square area walking toward the officers. One of the individuals had a 750 ml bottle of Moet and Chandon protruding from the pocket of his sweatshirt. The suspect and the people with him did not appear to be 21-years of age. When the suspects observed the officers, they hid behind a concrete pillar. The officers stopped the individuals and found three of them to be in possession of the above liquor as well as 12 oz. bottle of Corona, a bottle of Grand Marnier, Grey Goose and Absolut. All three bottles had speed pourers in the tops as though they were from a bar. The liquor was seized and two 16-year-old males and a 15-year-old male from Roslindale, Roxbury and Boston were all placed under arrest. The will be arraigned in the Boston Juvenile Court this morning.
