Four Arrested After Home Invasion at 5 Intervale Street

This morning at about 8:38 a.m., officers assigned to District 2 responded to a radio call for a home invasion at 5 Intervale Street apartment 202, in Roxbury. When the officers arrived to the apartment, they observed victim #1 with severe burns on her left arm and screaming for an ambulance. The apartment was found to be in total disarray and officers noticed victim #2 to be in the back bedroom with victim #3. Victim #2 stated that while cooking noodles this morning around 8:15 am, three black non-Hispanic males and one black non-Hispanic female entered through the unlocked door of the apartment and pointed a handgun at victim #1. Victim #5 stated that the suspects were there because victim #3 owed them a large sum of money. Victim #2 stated that one of the male suspects then picked up the pot of boiling hot noodles and threw it at victim #1 burning part of her left ear and arm. Victim #4 was lying on a bed in the front room with victim #1. Officers located victim #5 outside, wearing only a t-shirt, standing in the back of 5 Intervale Street yelling up to apt #202 to let him in. Victim #5 stated to officers that he fled the apartment through the back door when the suspects entered the apartment. According to the victims, the suspects fled in a red motor vehicle towards Blue Hill Avenue.Moments later, Officers assigned to District 2 working “Operation Home Safe” observed the following people traveling in a red vehicle. The officers stopped the car and arrested the following people at Devon and Warren Streets: Melvin Scott, 27, of Mattapan, Christian White, 27, of Dorchester, Ernest Jenkins, 25, of Roxbury. Police also recovered two firearms in the possession of the suspects. They will all be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for the following charges: Home Invasion, Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Gun), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Firearm with Altered Serial Numbers, Possession Class D.
