Dorchester Man Arrested with GunThis morning at 12:26am officers from District 2 were on patrol in the area of 65 East Cottage Street in Dorchester. Officers approached a parked and running Green Toyota and questioned its occupant. Deonente Baptista, 22 of Dorchester, was found to be operating on a suspended license. During an inventory of the car officers found a loaded .45 caliber handgun in the center console. Baptista was arrested and will be arraigned today in Roxbury District Court. Berklee Student Making More than Music A Berklee student was arrested at 10:56pm last night after police discovered two plastic containers filled with BB’s and M60’s inside his dorm room at 270 Commonwealth Avenue. School officials told police that they were informed that a student was in possession of a BB gun. Officials went to the student’s room and that’s where they discovered the devises. The containers described as two plastic “LEGGS” sheer knee high egg containers, both filled with BB’s and M60’s, with wicks protruding from the egg, were disposed of by members of the Boston Police Explosive Ordinance Unit. Officers did arrest 18-year-old Jamaal Shoffner of Norwalk, Connecticut charging him with possession of an infernal machine. Pair Arrested in Mattapan with Gun Officers in District 18 responded to the area of 57 Greenfield Road on a report of shots fired. On arrival they found several spent shell casings and were given a description of a suspect vehicle that was seen leaving the area. A vehicle matching the suspect car was stopped at River and Thorn Streets with two male occupants. Further investigation revealed a loaded 9mm handgun in the car. Both occupants, Daniel Bunch, 17 of Hyde Park and a Juvenile male from Mattapan, were arrested
