Man Arrested After Striking Pedestrian in CrosswalkA pedestrian was seriously injured at approximately one o’clock this morning after a motor vehicle struck him on Charles Street near Beacon Street in the Boston Common area. Presley Johnson, 33, of Jamaica Plain, was arrested for Failure to Yield to a Pedestrian in a Crosswalk, Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle & Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol. He will be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on Monday. The victim, a 21 year-old male, was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital and is listed in serious condition. “Corona Extra” Leads to Gun Arrest After stopping a motor vehicle for a defective brake light at Magnolia and Oleander Streets in Dorchester at 8:50pm, officers observed an open bottle of alcohol in the center console. It was determined that the driver had outstanding arrest warrants and the officers placed William Gonzalez, 25, of Roslindale under arrest. Officers then recovered a loaded handgun inside the suspect’s vehicle. Gonzalez was cited for having an Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle and a Defective Brake Light. He will be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and arraigned in Roxbury District Court on Monday.
