The below comments were e-mailed to Police Commissioner Goslin’s office from a commuter, praising the work of Boston Police officers assigned to traffic duty.
“Just wanted to let you know that my commute in to work today was made 100% easier by the presence of traffic officers on the Atlantic/Summer intersection and the blocks further down. I know traffic control is a terrible, thankless job, particularly under these circumstances, but the officers down there are doing an outstanding job and it's making all the difference in the world. The first time I drove through that area post-big-dig fiasco, it took almost 45 minutes to get from the off-ramp to the Harbor parking garage. Today, it was a quick 10 or 15 minutes. Thanks for the hard work: I, for one, really appreciate it. I'm sure a lot of commuters do."
