Two Arrested After B&E at Brighton Construction Site

This morning at 12:44am, an officer assigned to District 14 responded to a radio call for people stealing wire and construction equipment at 2380 Beacon Street in Brighton. When the officer arrived to the construction site, he spoke with a security guard who stated he discovered two individuals in the basement of the site who stated they were working late. When the security officer requested identification from the men, they fled and entered a U-Haul van and attempted to flee from the garage. As the suspects drove away they struck a van occupied by another security guard before fleeing in an unknown direction. The first guard was able to provide police with an i.d. # on the hood of the U-Haul van. The officer broadcast a description to Boston Police Operations who passed the information onto district units and surrounding cities and towns. At about 1:20am, officers were notified that a Massachusetts State Trooper had stopped the suspect vehicle on Route 9 in the area of 45 Boylston Street. Boston officers as well as the two security guards from the construction site responded and positively identified the occupants of the van as the two from the construction site. Police arrested Keith Kimball, 33, of Dorchester and Edward Kilburn, 31, of South Boston and charged them both with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon and Breaking and Entering. Police recovered copper cable from inside the van. Both suspects will be arraigned in the Brighton District Court on Monday.
