Juvenile Arrested After Middle School Disturbance in Brighton

This morning at about 11:36am, officers from District 14 responded to the Thomas Edison Middle School located at 14 Glenmont Street in Brighton for an unknown problem. On arrival the officers observed multiple victim’s being treated at the school. Boston EMS, Fire and Hazmat Teams were on scene. According to a witness, a 15-year-old student released pepper spray inside the building. Officers located the pepper spray canister on Tremont Street where it was collected as evidence.Police arrested a 15-year-old male from East Boston and charged him with Delinquency to wit: Unlawful Possession of Pepper Spray, Disturbing a School Assembly and Disturbing the Peace. He will be arraigned in the Boston Juvenile Court. A total of 42 people were injured and transported to local hospitals where they were treated for minor injuries.
