Sacred Heart of Jesus Statue Stolen in RoxburyOfficers assigned to District 2 responded to the St. Francis Monastery located at 785 Parker Street on a report of a larceny on Sunday morning at 10:00am. On arrival the officer spoke with the victim who stated that sometime between 7:30pm on Saturday night and 9:00am on Sunday morning, unknown suspects stole the statue, which stood outside that address. The victim also reported that the statue of St. Francis that stands on the side of the church was damaged. Police urge anyone with information about this incident to contact them. Dorchester Male Arrested on Firearm Charges Officers assigned to District 11’s anti-crime unit observed a motor vehicle fail to stop at a red light last night at 5:41pm at Dorchester Avenue and East Cottage Street. Officers were able to stop the motor vehicle and question the operator. The operator was uncooperative with the officers. Further investigation revealed the suspect was operating after suspension. While attempting to arrest the suspect, officers were met with resistance and the suspect struck one officer causing him to fall. The suspect then fled the scene on foot and was captured on Hallam and Auckland Streets. A loaded firearm, liquor and marijuana were all recovered from the suspect’s vehicle. Police arrested Chevall Johnson, 37, of Dorchester and charged him with Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession Class D and numerous violations of the auto laws. He will be arraigned today in the Dorchester District Court. The officer was transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Further investigation revealed the suspect would be charged as an armed Career Criminal. One-Year-Old Baby Chokes on Alphabet Magnet Last night at about 9:00pm, an officer from District 1 responded to 420 Hanover Street on a report of a baby choking. The child’s mother reported while visiting an apartment on Charter Street, the child was playing with alphabet magnets when she noticed the child wasn’t breathing. The mother ran to the Fire Station carrying the child, Boston EMS transported the victim to the Massachusetts General Hospital for evaluation.
