Unarmed Robbery at Gas StationYesterday around 4:23pm, officers in District 11 responded to a radio call for a larceny in progress at 970 Washington Street. On arrival officers spoke with the victim who stated he was working as a clerk at gas station when an unknown black male entered the store and asked to borrow thirty dollars. At that time the clerk stated no and the suspect reached over the counter and grabbed the victim’s gold necklace and tried to walk out of the store. The clerk followed the suspect outside and recovered the necklace from the suspects. Richard Taylor, 39, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Unarmed Robbery. Woman Wake Up and Discovers Unknown Person Sleeping on Couch Last night around 11:30pm, officers in District 6 responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering in progress at 112 W Eighth Street. On arrival officers spoke with the victim who stated she was asleep on her couch and suddenly awoke and observed an unknown white male stretched out on her other couch. The victim inquired of the suspect who he was and he stated his name was Alex. She asked the suspect if she knew him and he replied I know somebody you know by the name Lauren, who is also unknown to the victim. At that time the victim asked the suspect to leave and he looked at her in a weird manner before exiting the apartment. Officers searched the area to no avail for the suspect. Man Arrested after Stealing Copper Piping This morning around 12:16am, officers in District 6 responded to a radio call for a man ripping copper drain piping off a building located around 118 W Third Street. Officers were informed that the suspect fled the area with a bag of copper and a bike. Officers located the suspect one street over on West Second Street and placed him under arrest. The caller positively identified the suspect. James Matheny, 31, of Braintree was arrested and charged with Larceny Over $250, Possession of Burglarious Tools and Destruction or injury of Personal Property. Officers did recover copper piping and a pry bar.
