LOUD AFTER HOURS PARTY IN MATTAPAN LEADS TO 2 ARRESTS At about 3:55am, on Sunday, April 15, 2007, officers from District E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to a radio call for a loud party on the 3rd floor of 16 Rector Road in Mattapan. On arrival, officers observed a party of approximately 100 people. (This was not the first time officers had been called to this address.) In fact, as a result of prior incidents, officers knew the 3rd floor apartment to be vacant. In fact, given the absence of furniture, the apartment still appeared to be unoccupied. As a result, the decision was made to clear the premise. However, as officers attempted to do so, party-goers became verbally abusive. In fact, one individual (identified as Cedric Moten) attempted to incite the crowd, yelling, "These (officers) need riot gear and bullet proof vests." When officers attempted to speak to Mr. Moten, other party-goers intervened, creating an obstruction between Mr. Moten and the officers. Ultimately, the officers were able to engage Mr. Moten. However, as officers were talking to the suspect, party-goers began turning overhead lights off and on in an effort to distract the officers. At this point, officers asked Mr. Moten (and others) to exit the premise. However, as officers were clearing the location, tenants on the 1st floor then began inviting and allowing party-goers into their apartment. As a result, officers approached the 1st floor apartment. However, as officers were attempting to enter the 1st floor apartment, occupants attempted to slam the door. When officers entered the apartment, officers announced, due to the time of night (4am) and the noise, the party was over. To which, the 1st floor tenant replied, “The police need to get out of my house.” Officers then arrested Cachita Mondesir, 21, of Mattapan, and charged her with being a Disorderly Person. Officers also arrested Cedric Moten, 21, of Dorchester, and charged him with Trespassing. LOUD PARTY LANDS 4 IN CUSTODY At about 4:31am, on Monday, April 16, 2007, officers from District D-4 (South End) received a radio call for a loud party at 610 Columbus Avenue (Apt. #6). On arrival, officers could hear loud noise and music coming from the apartment in question. Officers then knocked on the door. After several minutes, an unknown individual opened the door, but, when that individual saw the officers, he attempted to close the door. After gaining entry, officers observed beer containers (full and partly full) strewn throughout the residence. Officers also located and seized an empty beer keg. As officers were attempting to disperse the party, four individuals (who claimed to be tenants) began to verbally abuse the officers. The four individuals also admitted to officers that they had been drinking and were, in fact, drunk. Officers then arrested Obaro Emenike, 22, of New York; Conrad Dalton, 22, of New York; Joseph Flores, 22, of New York and Jose Fernandez, 22, of New York and charged all 4 with Disorderly Conduct.
