OFF-DUTY COP AIDS ARREST IN WEST ROXBURYAt about 11:43pm, on Sunday, July 8, 2007, officers from Area E-5 (West Roxbury) responded to a radio call for cars being broken into in the area Pheasant and Washington Streets. En route to the call, officers learned that an off-duty police officer was pursuing three suspects. On arrival, officers observed the off-duty police officer detaining one of the three suspects. That suspect was later arrested after being positively identified by witnesses. A description of the other two suspects was broadcast over Channel 4 of the police radio. As a result, officers were able to locate an additional suspect. Officers arrested Jaime Guerva, 17, of Roxbury, and Angel Ferrer, 25, Dorchester, and charged both with Breaking & Entering a Motor Vehicle at Night, Destruction of Personal Property and Possession of Burglarious Tools.
