ONE LESS GUN IN EAST BOSTONAt about 5:10pm, on Wednesday, July 11, 2007, officers from Area A-7 (East Boston) observed what appeared to be a drug transaction, between a man on foot and a person seated inside a motor vehicle, in the area of 945 Bennington Street. As a result, officers approached the individual seated inside the motor vehicle. During the course of their investigation, officers observed and recovered a plastic bag containing Class B Drugs. During a search of the motor vehicle, officers recovered a Smith & Wesson firearm. Officers arrested Tu Nguyen, 20, of Revere, and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and the Possession of a Class B Drug. Officers also arrested Di Tran, 20, of East Boston, and charged him with the Distribution of Class B Drugs (Ecstasy). THREE TEENS BUSTED FOR BREAKING & ENTERING IN HYDE PARK At about 1:09pm, on Wednesday, July 11, 2007, officers from Area E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to a radio call for a residential alarm at 254 Turtle Pond Parkway. On arrival, officers observed an open window in the rear of the residence. After entering the residence, officers observed the residence to be in disarray. Officers then conducted a search of the immediate area for suspects. In a wooded area near the back of the property, officers observed three black males. When officers approached the trio and identified themselves as police officers, the suspects began running. With the help of responding units, officers were able to secure all three suspects. All three suspects were found to have in their possession various items that did not belong them. Among the items found on the suspects: a personal check and various forms of identification. Once in custody, one of the suspects confessed to having broken into the above residence. Officers then arrested two 16 year-old males from Mattapan and a 14 year-old male from Dorchester, and charged all three with Receiving Stolen Property.
