Yesterday morning around 9:09am, officers from District B-2 responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering in progress at 71 Pontiac Street.Officers were actively patrolling the Mission Hill Area due to approximately ten breaking and entering incidents that have taken place. The suspect was described as a black male, slim build 5’-6” to 5’-7” about 18 years old and armed with a knife. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated that he observed a young black male in his apartment who pulled a knife out and stated “I am taking you stuff”. The victim stated he went into another room, locked the door and called the police. The victim stated he waited about two minutes and looked out of the room to see that the suspect had left. The victim stated the suspect ran down Pontiac Street towards Tremont Street and described him as a young black male about 5’-6” wearing a multicolored brim hat. Officers searched the area of Tremont Street and observed a black male with a multicolored brim hat running out of the parking lot of 1492 Tremont Street. Officers exited their cruiser to stop the suspect who proceeded to run across Tremont Street and run down a path between Mission Hill Park and the Tobin School. The suspect ran across Smith Street and through a small playground between Smith Street and Horadan Way. Officers located the suspect hiding in the bushed in front of 34 Horadan Way. The victim positively identified the suspect. Decosta Turner, 17, of Roxbury was arrested and charged with Assault by means of a Dangerous Weapon, Armed Assault in a Dwelling, Home Invasion and Breaking and Entering of a Dwelling House. The victim stated that his playstation 3 had been taken. While canvassing the area for the playstation 3 officers were informed that a black male put a black bag in a shed at 1492 Tremont Street. Officers recovered a playstation 3, headphones, playstatation controller, and a video game. Detectives believe that the suspect is responsible for other breaking and entering in the Mission Hill Area.
