Diligent Work By Officers Results in Firearm ArrestYesterday evening around 5:00Pm, officers from the Youth Violence Strike Force were on patrol in the area of Hendry St. in Dorchester when they observed a group of about 10-12 individuals congregating in front of 37 Hendry Street. As officers approached the group, they observed one individual break away from the group and quickly enter into 37 Hendry Street and close the door behind him. Officers, having noted this individual continued to patrol the area Later on in the night around 7:34PM, officers returned to the same area and observed the same group now standing in front of 34 Hendry Street. Again, as officers approached, the same individual broke away from the group and but this time entered 34 Hendry Street. Officers now exited their cruiser to further investigate this group and the individual that had entered the building. An officer followed the suspect into the building and as he entered the building heard the suspect running up the stairs. The officer continued going up the stairs behind the suspect, and as he reached the second floor landing heard a sound consistent with metal striking the wooden floor of the third floor landing. It should be noted that no one else was in the hallway. The officer continued to go up the stairs to further investigate the suspect and what he had heard when the suspect ran into the officer as he quickly attempted to make his way of the building. The suspect was detained pending further investigation and it was determined that the suspect neither lived in the building nor was he visiting. The suspect was initially placed under arrest for trespassing, and further investigation of the third floor landing revealed a loaded semi-automatic firearm. The suspect, a 14 year-old juvenile from Dorchester was arrested and charged with Trespassing, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a High Capacity Feeding Device, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, and Improper Storage of a Firearm. Indecent Exposure Is Indecent At approximately 7:42pm, officers from District E-5 (Roslindale and West Roxbury) arrested suspect, Martin A. Keneavy, 47, of West Roxbury and charged him with Indecent Exposure. Officers initially responded to the West Roxbury Commuter Rail station located at Elgin St. and Hillcrest St. for a man exposing himself. There, officers spoke to a witness/victim who was visibly shaken and upset by what she had just observed. The victim reported to officers that she and her three children arrived at the station to pick up her husband when she observed the suspect standing on the platform. The victim then stated to officers that the suspect apparently intentionally positioned himself in a clear full frontal view of the victim, and made eye contact with her. The suspect, after making eye contact with the victim, unzipped his pants, and exposed himself. After having engaged in this behavior, the suspect attempted to flee when he was stopped by a witness who detained him until police arrival. The suspect, once stopped by the police, stated that he was trying to urinate and apologized for his behavior. The suspect was observed to have bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol about him. Operation Squeeze: When Will They Learn?
