PLAY BALL!Boston Police Officers and Boston Youth Team Up for Softball! WHO: Boston Police Captain Paul Russell; Officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) and youth from the Madison Park Village, Ruggles and Whittier Street community WHAT: Boston Police officers engage community youth in a game of softball. After the game, officers will participate in the Madison Park Village Unity Day. WHERE: Madison Park High School lower baseball field Roxbury, MA WHEN: Saturday, October 4, 2008 8:30am-10:30am WHY: The Boston Police Department is dedicated to community policing. The department strives everyday to strengthen ties and build community trust with the residents whom we serve. The department recognizes the significance of cultivating police relations with local teens and fostering a good rapport so that youth and police can work together to improve safety and reduce crime in all Boston neighborhoods. This event is just one of the many examples of how the BPD is connecting with local members of the community and demonstrating our commitment to community policing.
