MAN BREAKING INTO APARTMENT STATED HE WAS JUST TRYING TO MEET HIS DATEAt about 3:52am, on Friday, October 10, 2008, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering in progress in the area of 170 Parker Hill Ave. On arrival, officers located a suspect in the rear of the location standing near a window with its screen partially removed. When officers spoke to the occupants of the apartment, the tenants stated they called police after hearing a person banging and trying to open the window to their residence. When officers spoke to the suspect, the suspect stated that he had met someone on line who told him to go to the window and bang on it in order to gain entry. Suspect also stated that he had to remove the screen in order to bang on the window. Despite the plausible explanation, officers arrested Duhamel Deon Cassagnol, 20, of Milton and charged him with Breaking & Entering a Residence. POLICE ARREST OPERATOR FOR DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE AFTER HE DRIVES INTO A POLICE CRUISER At about 2:00am, on Friday, October 10, 2008, officers from Area E-13 (Jamaica Plain) were on patrol when they observed two individuals banging on the windows of an establishment in the area of 700 Centre Street. In addition to banging on the windows, the suspects were also yelling and screaming for no apparent reason. Officers pulled up in their cruiser and stopped in front of the suspects. After stopping their cruiser, officers watched as a motor vehicle backed up into their cruiser. When officers spoke to the operator of the vehicle, the operator stated that he didn’t see the police cruiser. The operator further stated that he was backing up in order to pick up his two friends. Officers observed no visible damage to either car. However, as officers were speaking to the operator, officers noted that the suspect appeared to be intoxicated given his slurred speech, glassy eyes and an odor of alcohol emanating from his breath. When asked if he had been drinking, the suspect stated that he had had a couple of beers. After failing a field sobriety test, officers arrested Joshua Maya, 22, of Roslindale and charged him with Operating Under the Influence.
