WAY TOO EARLY FOR CHRISTMAS MUSIC & FOR SOME NEIGHBORS IN SOUTHIE IT WAS ALSO WAY TOO LATEAt about 4:04 am, on Saturday, November 8, 2008, officers from Area C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call for loud music in the area of 5 Shepton Terrace. On arrival, officers spoke to several residents who stated that one of the tenants was playing his music much too loud. As officers approached the location in question, officers could hear Christmas music being played at an unnecessarily loud level. When the tenant answered the door, officers instructed him to lower the music due to calls made to 9-1-1. Officers further advised the tenant that people were having difficulty sleeping due the loud Christmas music. With the music turned down, officers left the location. However, a short time later, officers were called back to the same address for the same reason (noise complaint). Upon arrival, officers were able to hear the loud Christmas music. When officers knocked on the door, the tenant answered the door and began swearing at the officers. Officers arrested Kevin Foley, 54, of South Boston and charged him with Disturbing the Peace. COFFEE THROWING PEDESTRIAN ARRESTED DOWNTOWN At about 4:25pm, on Saturday, November 8, 2008, officers from Area A-1 were monitoring traffic in the area of Union and North Streets when officers observed an individual crossing the street. As the individual was crossing the street in the crosswalk, a motor vehicle blocked his path. Upon seeing the motor vehicle, the incensed pedestrian began to kick the motor vehicle. Specifically, officers observed the pedestrian kick the car’s front right quarter. Officers then observed the pedestrian throw a cup of coffee at the passenger sitting the front passenger seat. Officers arrested Robert Nagle, 35, of Milton and charged him with Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property and Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (coffee). POLICE ARREST FOUR SUSPECTS WANTED IN CONNECTION WITH THE ROBBERY OF AN ELDERLY MAN At about 1:37pm, on Friday, November 7, 2008, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for an armed robbery in progress in the area of 1681 Dorchester Ave. According to witnesses, 4 to 5 kids ran up to an elderly man, knocked him down and then took his wallet and three packs of cigarettes. Officers promptly broadcast a description of the suspects over Channel 6 of the police radio. According to the victim, he had just exited the Convenient Corner at 1688 Dorchester Avenue and was walking home when he was attacked from behind. Upon being knocked to the ground, the victim says one of the suspects dropped a knife. In short time, officers located four individuals who matched the description of the suspects. While officers were questioning the suspects, witnesses were brought to the location for identification purposes. Once on scene, witnesses positively identified all four of the suspects. Furthermore, after viewing surveillance video from an in-store security camera, officers were able to observe and place the suspects in the area of the incident when the crime was committed. Officers arrested a 15 year-old male, two 16 year-old males and Roger Middleton, 17, of Dorchester and charged all four with Armed Robbery.
