Be Careful Where You Hang Your JacketAbout 2:45PM yesterday, officers from District A-1 (Downtown Boston) responded to a dispute inside Macy’s located at 450 Washington Street. On scene, officers spoke to a witness who reported to officers that two individuals inside the store had a dispute over money. Officers then located the victim who stated to officers that he had taken off his jacket in order to try on another, and hung it up on a clothes rack in the store. The victim then told officers that while he was trying on another jacket he observed the suspect go in his jacket pocket and take his money. Officers then learned that the victim had had $2, 200.00 in cash in his jacket pocket. Officers then spoke to the suspect who denied having taken any money from the victim’s jacket pocket. When asked for identification, the suspect initially denied having any identification then admitted that he only had a Rhode Island identification card. While officers were continuing their investigation, they observed the suspect go behind a clothes rack and attempt to take something out of his pocket. Officers then confronted the suspect about his actions behind the clothes rack and he admitted to stealing the victim’s money. Officers recovered the victim’s money from the suspect and placed him under arrest. Suspect, Antonio Delmeida, 59, of Malden was arrested and charged with Larceny over $250 and Trespassing. Just When She Thought She Had Gotten Away with It! Yesterday afternoon around 4:35PM, officers and detectives from District D-4 (South End) responded to 100 Huntington Ave./Armani Exchange a report of larceny by a store employee. On arrival, officers and detectives spoke to the store loss prevention manager who reported to officers that based on their investigation, a store employee had stolen close to $33,000.00 from the store between April and December of 2008. According to the loss prevention manager, the suspect who was responsible for making bank deposits would take the deposits to the bank but only make partial deposits. The suspect, Daniele S. Erol, 30, of Braintree was arrested and charged with Larceny from the Person.
