Victim of 96 Stanwood Street Shooting Identified

On Wednesday, January 7, 2009 around 9:21PM, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a person or persons shot in the area of 96 Stanwood Street in Dorchester.On arrival, officers located two individuals suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The two victims, a 36 year-old male and a 36 year-old female were both transported to Boston Medical Center, the male with life threatening injuries, and the female with non-life threatening injuries. The male victim, Tyrone Smith, 36 of Roxbury was pronounced after arriving at the hospital. The Boston Police Department is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.
