POLICE ARREST ONE FOR ALLEGEDLY BREAKING INTO A FRIEND’S HOME
At about 9:48am, on Friday, January 22, 2010, officers from Area A-7 (East Boston) responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering in progress in the area of 30 Frankfort Street. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that a 5’8” Hispanic male in his mid 20’s with a pony tail broke into his home through a kitchen window. The victim further stated that he was watching television in his living room when he heard noises coming from his kitchen which is located in the rear of the residence. Upon looking into the source of the noises, the victim says, when he entered the kitchen, he observed an individual in the process of gaining entry into his residence via a window. Upon seeing the suspect, the victim yelled, "Who are you and what are you doing here?” To which the suspect replied, “I'm here to meet my brother in apartment 30 on the second floor." At this time, the victim says the suspect jumped out of the window and fled on foot in the direction of Frankfort Street. The victim followed the suspect and watched as the suspect entered a red van. The victim was able to see and pass along the plate number of the car. Officers promptly broadcast a description of the suspect and his car over the police radio.
After running the plate through the Registry of Motor Vehicles, officers discovered that the motor vehicle belonged to a person living in the area of 140 Saratoga Street. Upon responding to that address, officers were able to locate an individual who matched the description of the suspect. While speaking to the individual, the individual quickly admitted that, earlier in the day, he had attempted to climb through a window at 30 Frankfort Street. The individual told police that a friend of his was supposed to leave a window open so he could get into the building.
While officers were speaking to the suspect, the victim was brought to the scene for identification purposes. Once on scene, the victim was able to positively identify the suspect as the person who was trying to break into his home.
Officers arrested Angel Perez, 27, of Malden and charged with Breaking & Entering into a Dwelling House (Daytime).
