On Sunday, January 17, 2010, at approximately 7:15am, Boston Police Officers assigned out of Area E-18 (Hyde Park), responded to 3 Frazer Street, Hyde Park for a report of a dead cat hanging from an electrical wire.
Upon arrival, Officers located an orange colored cat hanging from the railing of the first floor rear deck with an electrical wire tied around its neck. Based upon the amount of fresh, untainted snow, below and around the dead animal, officers believed the cat was placed there from an individual who had access from within the first floor apartment.
Officers spoke with numerous people within and around the building that did not know who had owned the cat.
Boston Animal Control responded to the scene and took custody of the deceased animal.
