BATTLE OF THE BADGES SET TO KICK OFF SATURDAY NIGHT IN BOSTON

WHAT: On Saturday, April 24, 2010, Battle of the Badges, an amateur boxing event designed to benefit the Scientific Social Solutions Crash Program (www.socialscientificsolutions.org) will kick off at 7:00pm at the Boston Athletic Club in Boston. This year’s card will feature 11 different boxing bouts, culminating with the main event battle between Boston Police Officer Billy Traft (former New England Golf Glove Champ 2005 & 2006) and Framingham Firefighter Adam Quint (New England Gold Glove Champ 2004).

The Scientific Social Solutions Crash Program is a charity designed to make young people safer and more effective drivers by helping them better understand the science behind high speed automotive or motor vehicle accidents. By showing young people how motor vehicle accidents happen through math and science, the program also hopes to show young people how to avoid them.

In addition to raising money for a worthy charity, the event is also designed to cultivate team spirit and camaraderie between the New York Fire Department and New England Law Enforcement.
