POLICE ARREST FIVE FOR TRESSPASSING IN BRIGHTON
At about 12:02am, on Saturday, June 26, 2010, officers from Area D-14 (Brighton) were on patrol when officers observed a large group of males sitting on benches and drinking inside the park just off of Hano Street. Officers also observed several empty beer bottles, which appeared to belong to the group, strewn in and around the benches. Officers also observed a sign hanging above the benches, clearly posted, that stated the park is closed from dusk until dawn.
In addition to the above, officer recognized and realized that on the night previous, the very same group had been warned and informed that trespassing in the park after dusk could put them in a position where they could be arrested.
Upon realizing the group had been warned once before, officers arrested five males (two juveniles) and charged them with Trespassing. A frisk of the five suspects enabled officers to locate and take possession of three knives.
