TWO CAR BREAKS LEAD TO THREE ARRESTS

POLICE ARREST ONE BREAKING INTO CARS IN SOUTHIE

At about 5:32am, on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, officers from Area C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call for a person breaking into cars in the area of 191 W 8th Street. While en route to the call, officers learned that the suspect was described as a white male wearing a green shirt and blue shorts. The caller further stated that the suspect was seen hiding items in the park directly across from 191 W 8th Street.

On arrival, officers soon observed and located an individual who looked like the suspect. As a result, officers approached the suspect for questioning. However, when the suspect saw officers approaching, the suspect stopped and changed direction. Officers were able to catch up to the suspect. While talking to the suspect, officers noticed an item sticking out of his clothing. Officers discovered that the item was a GPS window mount. Additionally, a search of the area where the suspect was seen hiding items enabled officers to see and take possession of two GPS devices and an iPod.

Officers arrested Joseph McDonough, 24, of Boston and charged him with Breaking & Entering a Motor Vehicle (Nighttime).

POLICE ARREST TWO BREAKING INTO CARS IN DORCHESTER

At about 1:00am, on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a person or persons breaking into cars in the area of 741 Morrissey Blvd. While en route to the call, officers learned that the victim, after seeing the suspects break into his car, followed the suspects to a convenience store on Morrissey Blvd. The caller described the suspects as a white male, about 5’2” wearing a gray hoodie and a black male, about 5’9” with braided hair wearing a gray hoodie and blue jeans.

In short time, officers observed two individuals who resembled the suspects. As a result, officers approached the individuals for questioning. While officers were talking to the suspects, the victim showed up on scene and positively identified the suspects. A search of the suspects enabled officers to locate and take possession of two GPS devices.

Officers arrested Shane Hillary, 24, of Boston and Maliek Anderson, 17, of Boston and charged both with Breaking & Entering Motor Vehicles (Nighttime).
