Larceny Lands three in Jail for Stealing a Handbag

At approximately 3:48PM, officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to 186 Newbury Street/Intermix Store for a larceny in progress.

En route, officers were advised that a store employee had followed the suspects down Newbury St. toward Clarendon Street and had observed two of the suspects continue down Newbury St. while the other suspect made a right turn on Clarendon St. toward Commonwealth Avenue.  A description of the suspects was broadcast while other units responded to the area. An officer in the area, patrolling the area due to larcenies observed two individuals matching the suspects’ description walking on the sidewalk of Marlborough and Clarendon Streets and stopped them at the intersection of Marlborough and Berkeley Streets. Both suspects were stopped and positively identified by witnesses.  Once stopped the suspects informed officers of the location of their car and officers set up surveillance to see if the other suspect would return to the car. After a short while, the third suspect was observed coming back to the car and trying to open the door to the car. That suspect was stopped and also positively identified by witnesses.

Officers spoke to the witnesses and they reported that they that the three suspects came in the store and were speaking to each other while in the store. One of the suspects then took a Louis Vuitton handbag valued in excess of $2,700.00 and all three fled out of the store. The suspects, Edisher Akhobadze, 38 of Brooklyn, NY, Zurab Sharvashidze, 46 of Brooklyn, NY, and Natalia V. Gordon, 30 of New York, NY were all arrested and charged with Larceny Over $250.00.
