BOSTON EMERGENCY PERSONNEL TEAM UP IN THEIR EFFORTS TO PULL POSSIBLE JUMPER TO SAFETY

At about 1:55pm, on Sunday, September 19, 2010, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a possible jumper in the area of 37 Bennett Street. On arrival, officers observed and located the potential jumper on the roof of the above-mentioned address, an office building associated with the New England Medical Center. Officers, with help from Boston EMS and Boston Fire, were able to dissuade the victim from jumping. While a member of Boston EMS was communicating with the victim, Boston officers (Detective Joseph McSorley and Sergeant Jack Klokman) were able to reach out and pull the victim, who was sitting perilously close to the edge of the roof, to safety. The victim, whose identity will not be released, was transported to New England Medical Center for evaluation purposes.
