At about 11:45am, on Sunday, October 10, 2010, officers from Area D-14 (Brighton) responded to a radio call for vandalism in the area of 8 Oak Street. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that she parked her car in front of her house. While at home, the victim says she looked out her window and observed an individual scratch something onto the hood of her car. Upon inspecting the hood of the victim’s car, officers noted what looked to be a freshly made scratch. While standing by the car, the suspect approached the officers and stated that he was upset because the victim’s car struck his car when she pulled in. When asked if he was responsible for the scratch on the victim’s car, the suspect stated he wasn’t.

At this point, officers asked the suspect to produce his keys. Upon inspecting the keys, officers discovered what looked to be fresh paint matching the color of the victim’s car.

Officers arrested Francisco Lazo, 37, of Boston and charged him with the Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property.
