MAYOR THOMAS MENINO DECLARES SNOW EMERGENCY

Today, Sunday, December 26, 2010, Mayor Thomas Menino has declared a snow emergency that bans parking on all major streets in the city of Boston. The snow emergency will take effect at 3:00pm today, Sunday, December 26, 2010, as a major winter storm makes its way towards Boston. As such, residents are encouraged to find alternative places to park their vehicles. Motor vehicles left on major streets are subject to towing. In the event your motor vehicle is towed, contact the city's tow line at (617) 343-4629. Local meteorologists are forecasting upwards of 15 inches of snow in the Boston area. Given today's forecast, keeping city streets clean and drivable for emergency vehicles is of the highest priority.
