Around 3:15AM on Saturday, February 19, 2011, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) were on patrol in the area of Blue Hill Ave. and Washington St. when they first observed an individual walking on foot towards Normandy Street. Officers took specific note of him because he was walking in an unusual manner holding his right hand and arm stiff against the front of his waistband while his left hand swung freely. This, manner of walking, is consistent with officers’ training and experience on an armed suspect.
Officers turned around and followed the suspect onto Normandy where they observed him get into a car and take off. Officers followed the suspect as he drove off at a high rate of speed and continued to monitor him until Blue Hill Ave. where they conducted a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, officers asked the suspect for his license and registration but he was only able to produce a registration and told officers that he did no t have a license on him all the while appearing to be very nervous, visibly shaking and breathing very heavy..
As officers were conducting the traffic stop, an officer standing by observed the handle of a gun protruding from under the driver’s seat. The suspect was removed from the car and officers confirmed that the suspect was indeed in possession of a loaded handgun with a high capacity magazine. The suspect when asked for a license to carry told officers that he did not have one.
The suspect, Christopher Good, 20 of Hyde Park was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. In addition the suspect was cited for several motor vehicle violations.
