At about 10:56pm, on Monday, March 28, 2011, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) were on patrol in the area of Annunciation Road when officers heard a loud bang, followed by a muffled bang, which officers believed to be gun shots. Officers then observed a black Hispanic male (wearing a black vest with a gray hooded sweat shirt, black jeans and black sneakers) walking rapidly along Ruggles Street away from the area where officers believed the shots originated. Officers further noted that the individual kept turning his head back and forth in such a way as if to suggest he was running away from something. Officers approached the suspect to further investigate the incident and to determine whether or not the suspect was involved. When asked about the gunshots, the suspect stated, "Yeah. I think they were shooting at me and I found a gun." A pat frisk of the suspect enabled officers to locate and take possession of a loaded firearm which the suspect was carrying. A search of the area enabled officers to locate a spent round from the weapon taken off the suspect. Officers arrested Tarrell Lymon, 18, of Boston and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Ammunition and Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling.
