Neighbors Quick Call to 911 Helps to Collar B&E Suspect

Yesterday afternoon around 1:34PM, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) arrested suspect, Hector L. Irenne, IV, 20 of Dorchester and charged him with Breaking and Entering in the Daytime, Possession of Burglarious Tools, and Unlawfully Carrying a Dangerous Weapon. Officers initially responded to the 22 Maryland St. in Dorchester based on a call to 911 for a breaking and entering in progress. En route, officers were advised that the caller had observed a male suspect wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and latex gloves walking through the back gate of the house. As officers arrived at the call they observed an individual matching the suspect description walk out the side gate and duck down next to a parked car as if to avoid detection. Officers approached the suspect to further investigate and as they did so, the suspect bladed his body and exclaimed to officers, “Why are you stopping me? You have no probable cause!!”  Officers stopped the suspect and conducted a threshold inquiry during which they recovered a knife from the suspect.

Officers then went around the back of the house where they noted damage to the back door of the first floor apartment in the form of scuff marks on the door and damage to the frame.  Based on their observations, officers formed the opinion that the suspect had broken into or attempted to break into the apartment. The suspect was handcuffed and placed in a police vehicle at which point he provided several stories about how he came to be in the rear of the house. After speaking to the suspect, officers were able to find the two witnesses who had called in to 911. Both witnesses reported that they were aware of past breaks into houses in the area and observed the male in the rear of the house fidgeting with the door.  After speaking to the witnesses, an occupant of the house showed up and told officers that the suspect is a former who he believed previously broke into his house and called him bragging about his actions.  The victim further reported that the suspect had also called him and threatened him with physical violence.

The suspect based on all the statements, from witnesses and victim was placed under arrests and charged with the above crimes and then subsequently charged with Threats to Kill after speaking to the occupant of the house.
