At about 1:42am, on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a call for shots fired in the area of 45 Olney Street. On arrival, officers located a black male in his late thirties suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim has since been identified as Nicholas Trotman, 38, of Dorchester. The Boston Police Homicide Unit is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.
