Police Seek Public's Help in Connection with Missing Storm Drain Covers in the area of Jamaica Plain

 

At about 7:51 AM, Saturday, November 16, 2013, officers from District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to report of a missing square drain cover  in the area of Bourne Street and Eastland Road, Jamaica Plain.

Upon arrival officers observed the storm drain cover had been removed from the street.  Police notified Boston Water and Sewer to replace the cover.  While officers were still on scene, another call came in for missing storm drain cover at Glen Road , in the area of Sigourney Street.  Two additional reports for missing  storm covers came in at Williams and Dungarven Streets and Williams and Stedman Streets.  Boston Water and Sewer responded to each location and replaced the drain covers.

Boston Police are requesting the public use caution when driving particularity at night.  If anyone sees anything suspicious involving missing storm drain covers please call 911. 

The Boston Police Department is actively investigating facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) detectives at 617-343-5628.
