Police Arrest Three and Recover Two Large Capacity Weapons, in Dorchester

 

At about 10:40 PM, November 29, 2013 Officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a call for a disturbance/loud party at 36 Spencer St. Dorchester.

 Upon arrival officers observed several individuals exit the house including a male wearing a red shirt, running from 36 Spencer Street towards Athelwold Street, holding an unknown black object in his hand. Officers transmitted the description of the male, to a police dispatcher as they attempted to control the scene. 

 After hearing the radio transmission, additional officers observed two males, one wearing a red baseball type hat and the other wearing a red shirt, run from the direction of Spencer Street onto Athelwold Street and get into a grey motor vehicle, and speed away.  Officers observed the same motor vehicle at a posted stop sign at the intersection of Athelwold and Thane Streets.  The vehicle  accelerate abruptly before pulling over in the area of 16 Thane Street. Officers approached the grey Honda and observed three occupants; the rear passenger was wearing a red shirt.  A red ‘Chicago Bulls’ baseball hat was observed on the floor. 

 Upon further investigation of the motor vehicle officers recovered two large capacity firearms; a Rugar sr9, and a Rugar p94 both  loaded with large capacity magazines. 

 Officers arrested  Darius Bass, 19, Steven Joseph, 18, and a 16 year old juvenile male , all of Dorchester, for Carrying a Firearm without a License, Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device and Firearm with a Defaced Serial Number.  All are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on Monday. 

 A female tenant of 36 Spencer Street was advised she would be mailed a citation and summonsed to Dorchester District Court as the keeper of a disorderly house.

The landlord of the same unit was issued a written warning for being an off-site landlord who allowed an illegal after hours party to occur.
