Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Police Arrest One for Cruelty to Animals in the area of 40 Union St.

 

At about 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 18, 2013, officers from District D-14 (Brighton) responded to a radio call to Investigate an Argument in the area of 40 Union St., Brighton.

On arrival, officers spoke with a male victim who stated that his wife had called him and stated that their roommate, the suspect, was arguing with her. The male victim stated that the suspect claimed he was going to kill the victim’s family pet rabbit. When officers entered the residence, they noted that the rabbit’s cage had been empty. When officers, along with the male victim, attempted to gain entry into the suspect’s bedroom, the suspect opened the door and began to assault the male victim. Officers attempted to stop the suspect from assaulting the victim when the suspect struck the officer in the face. After a brief struggle, officers were able to subdue the suspect and place him under arrest.

 Upon further investigation, officers located the victim’s deceased pet rabbit.

Arrested was Alfredo Orosco, 36, of Brighton. Orosco is charged with Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, and Cruelty to Animals.
