Police Arrest One for Indecent Assault and Battery on a Special Needs Student

 

The Boston Police Department is investigating an incident at the Boston Community Leadership Academy.

At about 12:40 PM, Friday, December 20, 2013, officers from District E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to a radio call for an Investigation in the area of 655 Metropolitan Avenue in Hyde Park.

On arrival, officers spoke with witnesses who stated that a teacher’s aide allegedly struck and inappropriately touched a student.

Arrested was Thomas Burke, 57, of Roslindale. Burke is charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Shod Foot) and Indecent Assault and Battery on a Special Needs Person. The Boston Public Schools Department is notifying parents of this incident.

The Boston Police Department is actively investigating facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.
