Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Sharp-Eyed Officers from District B-2 Nab Suspect Caught on Video Stealing Packages from a Roxbury Hallway

 

At about 2:45pm, on Monday, December 23, 2013, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a call for a larceny report in the area of 1566 Tremont Street. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that he returned home to discover that packages delivered to his address courtesy of UPS had been stolen. The victim informed officers that the hallway is equipped with security cameras. After reviewing the surveillance video, officers were able to establish a description of the suspect. According to the victim, one of the UPS packages contained a pair of Google Glasses. As seen on the video, the suspect was described as a light-skinned black male, tall, thin build, thin mustache, wearing a winter hat bearing the logo: ‘Boston’, a dark puffy jacket, dark pants and black sneakers. 

Later in the day, while returning to the station to complete the report on the above-mentioned incident, officers observed an individual in the area of Tremont & Parker Streets matching the description of the suspect seen on the surveillance video. After confirming the suspect’s identity, officers placed the suspect under arrest.

Officers arrested Martin White, 45, of Roxbury and charged him with Larceny from a Building, Larceny over $250.00 and Trespassing.
