At about 11:54PM on Monday, June 24, 2013, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a Robbery in Progress at Charles Street and Dorchester Avenue. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who stated that she had exited the Fields Corner T station and was walking through the schoolyard of Harbor Middle School when a man approached her from behind.
The suspect grabbed her clutch wallet, which contained her state identification card, Charlie Card, and $40 in cash, and then fled on foot toward Dorchester Avenue. The victim stated that she noticed the suspect following her into the schoolyard, though he did not speak to her. She described him as a white male, approximately 6’0”, with a medium build, blondish brown hair, and wearing a white t-shirt and dark colored shorts.
The victim stated that the suspect dropped two bags that he was carrying just before robbing her. The bags contained clothes, hygiene products, and a pair of sneakers. Additionally, at the top of one of the bags was a birth certificate that identified a Zachary Tentoni born in 1987, as well as a letter addressed to Zachary from his mother.
At about 1:35AM on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, officers stopped an individual fitting the description of the suspect on Dorchester Avenue and Faulkner Street, approximately one block from the location of the robbery. When officers asked the suspect for his name and date of birth, he replied, “John Foisy from Connecticut, and date of birth of June 16, 1993.”
Officers contacted the victim, who positively identified the suspect and confirmed, “That’s what he looked like. His build and clothing description was of that man.”
Officers arrested the suspect, Zachary Tentoni, 26, of Southington, Connecticut, for Unarmed Robbery, and transported him to C-11 for booking without incident.
