Police Arrest Two Juveniles and an Adult for Unarmed Robbery in East Boston

At about 9:28PM, Thursday, August 1, 2013, officers from District 7 (East Boston) while on patrol in the area of Jeffries Point observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, with its headlights off, turn from Everett Street onto Jeffries Street, almost causing a head on collision with the officers.

Officers activated the lights and sirens to conduct traffic stop. At that point, officers observed the male operator exit the vehicle and begin to ‘just walk away’. The male later stated to officers that he was “going to get Chinese food!”

Upon further investigation officers discovered the vehicle was stolen out of Chelsea. As the officers continued their investigation a police dispatcher reported a robbery in progress outside of 39 Lamson Street, just two blocks from the address of the traffic stop.

Officers on scene of Lamson Street spoke with a female victim who stated while walking down Lamson Street and talking on her cellphone, she was approached by a male suspect, who grabbed her phone, forcibly ripped it from her hand, then jumped into a vehicle and fled down Everett St towards Jeffries St. The victim described the suspect as a white male, (possibly Hispanic), 6’0 “, young, ponytail hair style, wearing a white shirt and black pants.

Officers on Jefferies Street realized the description matched one of the suspects stopped in the traffic stop.

Three male suspects were arrested. Suspect #1 a 15 year old juvenile, of Chelsea, charged with Delinquent to wit: Unarmed Robbery, Assault and Battery, Buying, Receiving or Concealing Stolen Goods. Suspect #2 also a 15 year old of Chelsea, charged with Delinquent to wit: Buying, Receiving or Concealing Stolen Goods and suspect #3, 20 year old, Luis Alberto Ramirez, of East Boston is charged with Receiving Stolen Property and Operating Motor Vehicle without a License.
