Boston Police Investigate Explosion in Hyde Park

At about 09:05am, on Friday, September 20, 2013, officers from District E-18 (Hyde Park, responded to a radio call for an explosion at 15 Riley Road, Hyde Park.

On arrival, officers located five victims suffering from multiple injuries.  Three victims were treated on scene and two victims were transported to area hospitals suffering from serious and respiratory injuries.

The preliminary investigation suggests the explosion was caused by a chemical experiment.

The Boston Police Department is actively investigating facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call District E-18 (Hyde Park) detectives at 617-343-5607.
