Today, Thursday, January 16, 2014, Commissioner’s Commendations were awarded to District C-11 Officers Stephen Canto, Nicholas Beliveau, Pamela Wilson, Alfred James and EMT’s Kevin Coan and Cameron Walsh: On December 21, 2013, Officers Canto, Beliveau, Wilson and James responded to a call for a person threatening to jump from a building located at 26 Mayfield Street in Dorchester.  On arrival, officers observed an emotionally unstable male threatening to jump from a third floor fire escape. Without delay, both the BPD officers and Boston EMT’s rushed up the fire escape in an effort to prevent the male from jumping. As officers made their to the top of the fire esape, the male attempted to jump but not before officers & EMT’s were able to grab a hold of the victim and pull him to safety. For their courageous actions and disregard for the dangers that confronted them, we say thank you to the brave men and women of the BPD and Boston EMS.
