At about 7:20 PM on Friday, October 10, 2014, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force made an onsite arrest and recovered an illegal firearm in the area of 679 Parker Street in Roxbury.

While on patrol in the area of the above location, due to recent incidents of gun violence officers observed an individual who is a known gang member walking in the area. As officers continued their patrol, their attention was again drawn to the male who appeared to be increasingly nervous, stiffening his muscles and avoiding eye contact with officers. As officers exited their vehicle in an effort to speak with the male, he appeared extremely frightened, again refusing to make eye contact with the officers. The male’s suspicious behavior was further noted when he refused to respond when officers asked him if he was in possession of a weapon. As officers continued their investigation of the suspect, they immediately felt a hard, heavy object in his waistband and were able to recover a Hopkins and Allen Arms firearm loaded with five rounds of live ammunition. Officers subsequently placed the suspect under arrest.

Officers arrested a 17-year-old juvenile male of Roxbury and charged him with Delinquent to Wit: Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Carrying a Loaded Firearm.
