For those who didn’t already know, the Emmy Award winning TV show - Top Chef – was in Boston earlier this year filming, shooting and piecing together the necessary ingredients for the show’s 12th Season which premieres this Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 10:00pm on Bravo. As in years past, Top Chef stars Padma Lakshmi, Tom Colicchio & Gail Simmons will headline TV’s top rated reality cooking show along with some very special guests. In fact, in addition to Patriots Tight End Rob Gronkowski, rumor has it that several members of both the Boston Police & Boston Fire Departments were invited to stop by and view a taping of the show at an undisclosed restaurant just outside of Boston. Now, whether or not an invitation to view the show leads to an actual appearance on the show, well, that remains to be seen. But, if you like the idea of seeing your first responders breaking bread with Padma, Tom and Gail, then, all we can say is … keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned. "Boston has always been at the top of our wish list as a location for Top Chef,” said Bravo producer Shari Levine, “not only because of its rich historical significance, but also because of its robust and ever-growing culinary scene." When asked to assess Boston’s culinary scene Tom Colicchio offered the following, “The quality of chefs and restaurants in Boston is amazing. Boston just doesn’t get the respect that Chicago or San Francisco get. It’s better here than in San Francisco and you can quote me on that.” Top Chef airs Wednesday nights at 10:00pm on Bravo.
