At about 8:19 PM on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force made an onsite arrest and recovered an illegal firearm in the area of 10 Mozart Street in Jamaica Plain.

While on directed patrol in the area of the above location due to a person shot earlier in the evening, officers’ attention was drawn to a group of approximately six males huddled together in Mozart Park. Upon seeing officers, five of the males began to leave the area together, while one male fled in the opposite direction, clutching an apparent object in his waistband. At this time, the suspect removed a shiny silver item from his waistband and threw it over a fence into the backyard of a residence. Officers detained the male and canvassed the area for the object. Upon searching the area of Priesing Street, officers were able to recover a silver Smith & Wesson Airweight .38 revolver loaded with five rounds of live ammunition. The male was subsequently placed under arrest.

Officers arrested 18-year-old Emmanuel Pena of Boston and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Carrying a Loaded Firearm.
