One Less Gun: Community Tip Leads to Recovery of Three Illegal Firearms in Roxbury

At about 6:24 PM on Monday, October 20, 2014, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) recovered three illegal firearms in the area of Dewey Street and Danube Street in Roxbury.

While on patrol, officers received a call from an area detective who had been notified by a concerned community member that there may be firearms located in the abandoned lot in the area of the above location. Officers responded to the lot and began their search, eventually locating a blue duffle bag under a rock. The bag contained three firearms: a Lorcin model L25 .25 caliber auto loaded with six live rounds of ammunition, an Intratec 9MM Luger model Tec-9, and a Thompson Center Arms 35 Rem Super 14. Officers were also able to recover additional ammunition inside of the bad as well.

The Boston Police Department is actively investigating facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call District B-2 (Roxbury) detectives at 617-343-4275.
