Community Alert: Boston Police Alert Residents and Students of Recent Robberies in Mission Hill Area

 

The Boston Police Department is issuing a Community Alert following incidents of Armed Robberies in the Mission Hill area of Roxbury (McLaughlin Playground, 179 Parker Hill Ave.) In these incidents, the suspects are described as four black males in their early twenties. According to the victims, two suspects displayed firearms and two displayed what they believed to be tasers. No victims were injured during these incidents. The incident descriptions are as follows:

At about 2:28 AM, Saturday, October 4, 2014, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for robbery in the area of McLaughlin Playground in Mission Hill (179 Parker Hill Ave). On arrival, officers spoke with a victim who stated he was walking with two friends through the park when they were approached by the suspects. During this encounter, the suspects demanded the three victims turn over personal property, all of whom complied. None of the victims reported any injuries. 

At about the same time, another group was walking through the park and was confronted by the suspects. Two additional victims complied with the suspects demands to turn over property and other potential victims ran from the area. Neither of these two victims were injured. 

In both incidents the suspects are described as four black males in their early twenties, all about 5'11", two wearing grey sweatshirts, two wearing black sweatshirts. 

The Boston Police Department is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding these incidents. Anyone with information is strongly urged to contact Detectives at Area B-2 (Roxbury) at 617-343-4275.
