Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Officers Arrest Male and Female Juvenile for Armed Robbery in Charlestown

 

At about 5:08 PM, on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, officers from District A-15 (Charlestown) arrested two juveniles for armed robbery in the area of Lowney Street and Bunkerhill Street in Charlestown. 

While working at the front desk of District A-15 (Charlestown) station, officers were met by the victim who reported that she had just been assaulted and robbed at knife point in the area of the above location. The victim stated that she had been walking home with her young daughter when she heard three juveniles using foul language which was sexual in nature in the presence of her impressionable daughter. The victim kindly asked the individuals to please stop using that language in front of her daughter to which one of them complied. At this time, another female in the group cursed at the victim again and displayed a knife while continuing to threaten the victim. The female suspect then threw a cup in the victim’s face and an altercation ensued in which the victim was slammed on the sidewalk by the male suspect. The victim was able to run into the district station with her young daughter to seek assistance from police. While inside the station, the victim realized that her iPhone had been taken during the scuffle. Officers were able to immediately locate the suspects. The suspects were positively identified and the victim’s phone was safely returned. Officers recovered a pink folding knife which had been used in the crime. 

Officers arrested a 14-year-old female juvenile of Charlestown and a 13-year-old male juvenile also of Charlestown. The female charged with Armed Robbery and Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon (Knife), she was also issues a City of Boston Ordinance Violation for Possession of a Knife with a Blade Over 2 ½ inches. The male is charged with Armed Robbery and Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon (Sidewalk).
