At about 12:02 AM on Thursday, November 6, 2014, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for an assault and battery in progress in the area of 146 Tremont Street (McDonald’s) in the Downtown area.
On arrival, officers approached the entrance to the restaurant which was locked. At this time, officers were met by a witness who stated that two men had attacked an employee inside of the restaurant. Officers knocked on the front door and observed an individual peek over the counter with a brown piece of clothing covering his face. At this time, the officers called for additional units and moved to cover the back alley entrance to the restaurant in an effort to prevent the suspects from fleeing. Upon arriving at the back door, officers observed two black males fleeing down the alley. Officers immediately gave chase and were able to apprehend the suspects at gunpoint in the alleyway. Officers then returned to the restaurant to speak with the victims who were able to successfully identify the area in which the suspects threw the firearms which had been used in the crime. Officers recovered two firearms, a hand gun and a shotgun, both located behind the oil tanks in the kitchen. Both suspects were positively identified at the scene. Preliminary investigation reveals that the same suspects may also be responsible for a similar incident that took place at the same location last month.
Officers arrested 26-year-old Andre Nesbeth of Dorchester and 26-year-old Mason McKoy of Dorchester. Both are charged with Armed Robbery while Masked and Kidnapping.
