Great Work Recognized: Commissioner’s Commendations Awarded to Officers Paul Dok, Christopher McCarthy and Michael Szegda - On Wednesday, October 22, 2014,  Officers Dok, McCarthy and Szegda received a radio call for a person threatening to jump off the Sudbury Street Parking Garage. On arrival, several witnesses approached officers and pointed to the location from which the woman was looking to jump. Upon gazing upward, officers immediately secured a visual of a woman sitting on an outer ledge on the upper level of the garage. After spotting the woman, officers made their way to the upper level. Once there, officers climbed onto the ledge where the woman was sitting. Upon seeing the officers, a struggle ensued as the woman attempted to jump off the ledge. All three officers - working together - were able to grab a hold of the woman and pull her safety. For putting their lives on the line in effort to save the life of another, Officers Paul Dok, Chris McCarthy and Michael Szegda are hereby awarded the Commissioner’s Commendations.
